Homer Collaborations with Local Media a Major Success

To foster stronger community engagement and share the incredible stories in our schools, the Homer Central School District has partnered locally both in print and on the airwaves.

One notable collaboration involves the district's monthly feature on X101 Always Classic (WXHC FM). Each month, the station features a different area of the school district.

The monthly features are scheduled to air on the second Wednesday of each month in the morning, and are also made available on demand on the WXHC website, ensuring that the content remains accessible to a broader audience.

In addition to the radio collaboration, the Homer Central School District  has established a biweekly presence in The Homer News newspaper. This dedicated section, sent home to every Homer resident, serves as look in to district highlights, accomplishments, and upcoming events.

“We are always looking for different ways to share our stories of Blue Pride with the community,” Homer Superintendent Thomas Turck said. “We couldn’t be more excited about these partnerships and are thrilled to highlight our students in every way possible.”

These collaborations are a result of work done by the district’s Community Engagement Committee. For more information on our strategic planning, please visit www.homercentral.org/strategicplan.
