Homer Football Coach Gary Podsiedlik Retires After 41 Seasons with Program

After 41 remarkable years of dedicated service to the Homer football program, including 34 years as head coach, Coach Gary Podsiedlik has announced his retirement, leaving a legacy of excellence both with the program and the players who played for him.

Coach Podsiedlik's journey with Homer football began in 1983 and he has held many coaching positions in his career. His unwavering commitment and passion for Homer has been instrumental in instilling Blue Pride in our student-athletes for decades.

Under Coach Podsiedlik's leadership, the Homer football program won 19 League Titles and 7 Section III Championships.

Most importantly however, is Coach P’s enduring legacy of "Tradition Never Graduates" and "Blue Pride Lasts Forever" which have inspired generations of athletes in the Homer community.

"It has been an amazing 41 years, and I will forever be grateful that I was assigned to Homer Schools in the early 1980s for my secondary mathematics fieldwork,” Coach Podsiedlik said. “Thank you all for allowing me to serve as the head coach of our historic program!"
