Students from Homer Elementary and Junior High Schools Embrace Outdoor Learning at Lime Hollow Nature Center

This school year, students from Homer Elementary School and Homer Junior High School have taken an exciting approach to outdoor learning by visiting the Lime Hollow Nature Center. These trips are proving to be a major success, providing students with valuable learning experiences while immersing them in the beauty of the outdoors.

"The trips to Lime Hollow are an incredible opportunity for our students to engage with nature in a hands-on way,” Homer Elementary School Principal Doug Pasquerella said. It's inspiring to see them learn while exploring the world."

This unique way of learning is another way Homer works to provide the most beneficial and unique educational experience for students.

"Our students have embraced the outdoor learning experiences at Lime Hollow with great enthusiasm,” Homer Junior High School Principal Kara Schneider said. “Interacting with nature has been so beneficial, and we are thrilled our students have this opportunity."

Lime Hollow encompasses nearly 594 acres of diverse terrain, providing a haven for a wide array of opportunities and experiences for visitors. The center's commitment to conservation, environmental education, and recreation has solidified its place as a cherished resource for the community, offering a range of programs and activities for individuals of all ages and abilities.
