Homer Volleyball Trip a Major Success

The Homer JV and Varsity volleyball teams recently took a trip to Pennsylvania that involved sand volleyball, Penn State University, and Gettysburg!

The trip started with the varsity team scrimmaging at Vestal HS and JV played in a sand tournament. The teams then got on the road to Penn State University for a Penn State vs. Seton Hall match.

The following morning the team took a trip to Gettysburg.  The teams took time taking in the museum together, and finished with a guided bus tour of town, including important historical battlefields and monuments. Student-athletes even had an opportunity to see a monument dedicated to those who fought in the Civil War from the Cortland area.

It was a full weekend of playing, team bonding, laughing and learning. Learning about one another as well as the history and importance of what happened in Gettysburg. An experience that none of the girls or coaches will soon forget!
