Summer Learning Program

Good Afternoon Homer Community,

Due to financial challenges, Homer Central School District will not be able to offer our traditional PreK through 6th grade Summer Learning Program this year. We understand this program has been valuable to many of our students as well as their families. Ideally, the district will be able to provide this opportunity in the future.

The Extended School Year (ESY) program will continue to operate. This is a mandated program for students with disabilities who qualify as part of their individualized educational plans. The program will run from July 6th through August 14th. Families who have a student attending will receive future correspondence with additional information.

In light of the decision not to run the traditional Summer Learning Program this year, I would like to thank our Community Liaisons for compiling the resources below, highlighting summer camp opportunities available to students in our community.

Also attached is the Homer Recreation Program brochure for additional summer opportunities.

As summer approaches, we will share an additional bank of resources for those families looking for ways to support their children throughout the summer.
Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to the end of the school year and the transition to the summer months for our students.

Timothy P. Ryan
Interim Superintendent of Schools
