Homer Athletics Inducts Hall of Fame Class of 2024
The Homer Athletic Department recently honored seven inductees to the Homer Athletics Hall of Fame! The 2024 inductees into the Homer Athletics Hall of Fame were celebrated for their significant contributions to the district's athletic legacy, both as outstanding athletes and influential coaches.
“The Homer Hall of Fame showcases the best Homer athletics has to offer,” Homer Athletic Director Todd Lisi said. “I am so thrilled that we can give these individuals the recognition they deserve.”

Congratulations to our inductees!
• Jade Auchmoody (Class of 2014), a cross country, indoor track, and outdoor track star who earned First Team All-League honors, was a Sectional Champion, and the recipient of multiple MVP titles.
• James Baranello, former Homer Central soccer coach, who led his teams to OHSL League Championships and a NYSPHSAA Section III Championship, earning the title of OHSL Freedom Division Coach of the Year.
• Alec Bush (Class of 2015), Homer’s all-time leading rusher in football, who also excelled in track & field and lacrosse, earning First Team All-League, CNY, and NYS Class B honors, and serving as team captain.
• Tom Cottrell (Class of 1984), a longtime Homer Central teacher and coach, whose leadership in football, wrestling, and lacrosse led his teams to league and sectional championships.
• Gary Podsiedlik, a 41-year football coach at Homer Central, whose program claimed 19 league titles and 7 Section III Championships. His famous motto, “Blue Pride Lasts Forever,” continues to resonate with athletes across the district.
• Roger Rawson (Class of 1986), an athlete and coach, who contributed as a football and wrestling player and later as a strength, speed, and agility coach, weight room coach, and athletic supervisor. He also founded the Roger Rawson SAS Competition, inspiring athletes to achieve their physical best.
• Grant Stokoe (Class of 2018), a track and cross-country standout, who became a Section III State Champion, was named Male Athlete of the Year, and set records that still stand today.
