“It is so much more than just those wanting to be farmers”: FFA State Officer Tour Brings Enthusiasm in Homer

FFA Students

The Future Farmers of America State Officer Tour brought information to students in Homer about the organization to kick-off the school year recently. Students who attended the event participated in games and attended a workshop about growth, excellence, and community.

The Future Farmers of America (FFA) organization is for anyone interested in leadership, personal growth, and development. FFA is the largest youth organization in the country with over 850,000 members nationwide.

“It is so much more than just those wanting to be farmers,” Homer Agriculture Teacher and FFA Advisor Brooke Head said. “Most FFA members are interested in other aspects of agriculture other than just production agriculture, while some join for the support and community aspect. This event gave new and/or prospective members the opportunity to learn what FFA is about.”

Homer was one of the various stops on the State Officers Tour around the state.
