Homer, NY – Speaker Chase Mielke spoke with over 1,000 students, staff members, and parents in the Homer Central School District recently, addressing how to thrive in a stressful world and avoiding burnout.

Mielke, a Michigan Teacher of the Year Nominee, travels all over the world to teach students, parents, and educators the science of perspective, purpose, and perseverance. Providing a series of keynotes, assemblies, and Q&A sessions, Mielke emphasized ideas such as kindness, compassion, positive affirmations, and optimism.

“Chase’s message of giving our best when we are at our best was a huge hit,” Homer Assistant Superintendent of Instruction Jeff Evener said. “His experience as a public school teacher gave him instant credibility. He provided practical strategies and tips to help educators not just survive, but thrive in their work with our community’s children.” 

Mielke had the crowd engaged and emotional from start to finish. While Mielke spoke to the positives of school, he also made it a point to emphasize adversity in school as well.

“Chase Mielke has very powerful messaging that is extremely useful in our community,” Homer Superintendent Thomas Turck said. “He addresses both the easy and difficult topics surrounding the world of education. His presentation was excellent and very impactful for our students, staff, and parents.”
