The Homer Education Foundation, (HEF), is proud to announce two summer charity events for the month of July. The HEF Golf Classic will be held at the Cortland Country Club on Monday, July 14, 2008 and the HEF Holiday in Homer Hustle 5K and Fun Run will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2008. Both events are open to the public, and all monies raised at the events will go towards supporting the mission of the HEF, to promote the development of excellence in instruction, encourage innovation in programming and to ensure pride in the Homer Central School District by students, staff, alumni and the greater school community.
The HEF Golf Classic, sponsored by Graph Tex, will feature a Four Man Captain and Crew format. Awards will be provided to the teams that finish in first through third place. Prizes will also be awarded for the men's and women's longest drive and closest to the pin. After a day of golf, participants and sponsors will enjoy a buffet dinner followed by an awards ceremony at the Country Club. The cost is for the event is $300 per team.
The HEF Holiday in Homer Hustle 5K and Fun Run will be held in conjunction with the Village of Homer's Holiday in Homer. All races start at Homer Intermediate/Junior High School located at 58 Clinton St. in Homer. Awards for the 5K will be presented to the top three finishers for men and women in every age group. The cost for the 5K is $15 before July 2nd and $18 after July 2nd. The Fun Run will be free to all participants. T-Shirts will be guaranteed to those who sign up before July 2nd.
