News Update

Young Reporters

Hartnett students are a great help each morning by taking charge of announcements. Students report school news, the weather and lead the pledge each day. This is one way that our students play an important role in the success of our school.

Congratulations to:

Greta, James, Kendalyn, Alyssa, Kip, Cayla, Heather, Sara, Anna, and Bridget !

Bus Dismissal

We would like to remind parents that we must have a note if your child is going home on a different bus than usual. Please try to find out the bus number so your child gets on the correct bus after school. If you don’t know the bus number you may call the bus garage at 749-8373.
Bus 8 (Cow Bus) Virginia Lyon
Bus 12 (Pig Bus) Carlton Dawson
Bus 139 (Hippo Bus) Jack Knout
Bus 156 (Panther Bus) Jerry Hopkins
Bus 164 (Butterfly Bus) Dave Jones (A.M.)
Ed Graves (P.M.)

From the Nurse’s Office

Please remember to sign your children out in the main office when picking them up early. Even though you send a note to the teacher, it is still school policy to sign out in the office. This is a great help in tracking for attendance purposes. We appreciate your cooperation with this.

If your child is absent from school, NYS law says it is required that you send in a written note when they return to school explaining their absence.

Homer Blue Pride:

Homer Central Schools are involved in an effort within our schools and the Homer Central School community in general to share the pride of our schools and the children who attend them and staff who work in them. This effort is being called Blue Pride.

At Hartnett our students are being encouraged to continue making their best efforts in both the area of academics as well as citizenship and character. Students are also a part of a district wide contest to design a new Blue Pride logo. In addition, students are wearing Blue Pride Pins and Blue Clothing on Fridays to keep the spirit alive.

All too often we hear what is wrong with families, schools and communities. Blue Pride is an effort to remind everyone what is right with our schools and to share our successes and achievements. Please help us in keeping Blue Pride at the forefront by continued participation school events and activities as well as your continued support of your children in school.
