Health Services

Communicable Diseases

Due to the high transmission rate of illnesses among students in the classroom setting, children should not be sent to school when they are not feeling well. Below are the reasons, as stated in the district policy and procedure manual, that students will be sent home for:
1. Fever
2. Vomiting
3. Diarrhea
4. Red, itchy,runny eye(s)
5. Rashes of unknown origin
6. Live lice or untreated nits
7. At the discretion of school health personnel

The school nurse is always available to assess health concerns of students and discuss their findings with parents/guardians.Please do not send your sick or injured child to school to have the school health personnel evaluate. We can not diagnose nor prescribe for a sick or injured child. Only a medical doctor can do this.
