John Newbery and Randolph Caldecott Medals

The Newbery and Caldecott Medals honor outstanding writing and illustration of works published in the U.S. during the previous year. The awards are administered by the Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC), a division of the American Library Association.

The 3 Apples Award

NYS childrens' choice award is selected by students in grades 3-6 throughout New York State. Students vote from nominated titles in April. Nominated titles are announced in November, with information to appear in the Homer Highlights.
